Auburn Branch is celebrating its 60th Anniversary ALL YEAR !
By joining AAUW you belong to a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance.

Since 1881 the American Association of University Women has been the nation's leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls.

Through its vital nationwide network, AAUW opens doors for women and girls and influences public debate on critical social issues such as education, civil rights, and health care.

AAUW also sponsors community programs; publishes groundbreaking research on women, girls, and education; provides the world’s largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women; and fights sex discrimination in education.

AAUW’s work extends globally through its membership in "One Shared World" and "CARE". There are 72 national federations and associations worldwide.

Our local branch sends Fifth Graders to the Library each year for an educational adventure. We also send 7th Grade girls to the AAUW sponsored "Tech Trek" - a science summer camp at Stanford University focusing on Science, Technology, Environment and Math.

We have qualified for tax-exempt status on donations for local, as well as, national scholarships (Education Foundation). Our local scholarships benefit graduating high school girls and Sierra College re-entry women. We also support the Legal Advocacy Fund focusing on sex discrimination in the workplace.
